InterContinental Hotel: An Autumnal Transformation

We love working with clients who adore flowers as much as we do and recognise the value of gorgeous weekly displays to welcome guests and delight those who visit or work within the hotel. Our weekly flower expertise has been refined over many years, and we understand the challenges, complexities and creativity needed when designing in luxury corporate spaces. It's a challenge we relish and enables us to indulge in all our favourite seasonal flowers and create in many of London's landmark locations.

This week at The InterContinental Hotel, we have set the scene with a distinctly Autumnal flavour and transformed the lobby with the fruits of the season. Inspired by a country garden orchard, bringing the outside inside has been fun for our contract team. 

Head designer Larissa explains.


'I wanted to celebrate the turning of the leaves, a universal and iconic event that occurs worldwide. As a contemporary florists, we love to expand the creative opportunities with flowers by building structures and including props. The Intercontinental Hotel lobby is luxurious and spacious, so we enjoy using the space for our installations. For this week's installation, we created a tree structure at the entrance, complete with a ladder and a bucket of apples, placed as if picked off the tree. We used a combination of crab apples, autumnal hydrangeas and a blend of foliage to dress the public areas around the hotel. Our designs are usually sketched out and planned weeks before the installation. It's great to see the design take shape in real life. The installation is created whilst most people are asleep, but its so rewarding to get lovely comments from night staff and early morning guests as the installation takes shape.'
