In this case, fabulous Gemma paid tribute to the statuesque stem with a brilliant vivid-blue delphinium urn - the perfect pop of colour for a special table centre or flanking a beautiful fireplace. The classic bloom's silhouette and variety of colour options makes it a versatile ingredient - from large focal urns, to flower meadow scenes, whilst the tops create a wonderfully wild-garden feel in bridesmaid bouquets.

Us floral obsessives love delving in to find out a little bit more about the story of our favourite flowers - for instance, did you know that delphinium comes from the Greek word 'delphis'? Originally meaning dolphin because it's thought when picking the stem if looks like the beautiful sea creature diving out the ocean. In the language of flowers blue delphs in particular were thought to symbolise grace, youth and remembrance.
