Seasonal Favourite - Mimosa

Whilst January and February bring dark and gloomy days - there is a welcome ray of light in the floral world that makes a welcome appearance in these more somber months. Glorious Mimosa - the wonderfully fluffy, sunshine-hued flowering shrub arrives just in time to illuminate winter.

As we hurtle towards late January, you can’t miss incredible mimosa trees emitting that signature yellow glow, whether they sit proudly in front gardens, or steal the spotlight in parks. The season is a fleeting one - enjoy a posy from your local florist, or channel your inner Constance Spry and purchase an unruly bundle to fill a large vase, you won’t regret bringing the outdoors in.

Did you know that mimosa has long held a huge amount of symbolism? During WWII it was made the emblem of strength by Italian feminists and today is gifted widely on International Women’s Day (8th March.)
