Essential Floristry

A five-day immersion into professional floristry, taught at our flower school inside Battersea Power Station.

Learn the essentials of floristry from the masters at Moyses Stevens. Designed for aspiring florists and dedicated flower enthusiasts, this week-long workshop immerses you completely in the craft, covering many different aspects of professional floristry from the ground up.

Each day begins with an in-depth introduction from your tutor on the design you'll create, followed by the fundamentals — flower conditioning, the varieties you'll work with, their seasonal availability, and the sustainable mechanics behind every arrangement. You'll work with a mix of elegant fresh flowers and rustic dried blooms to build each piece.

Across the week you'll be introduced to the classic Moyses Stevens hand-tied bouquet, the world of event and corporate design, the art of wedding floristry, and seasonal sustainable wreaths — before finishing with an extravagant large-scale installation under the supervision of our florists.

Whether you love flowers or are looking to begin a career in them, you'll leave amazed by the work that goes on behind the most incredible floral designs. All tools, materials and flowers are provided.

Monday — Introduction. Morning: classic hand-tied bouquet. Afternoon: English garden-style hand-tied bouquet.

Tuesday — Events. Morning: low table arrangement. Afternoon: tall table arrangement, with table setting and styling.

Wednesday — Weddings. Morning: buttonhole and hairpiece. Afternoon: bride's bouquet.

Thursday — Corporate. Morning: corporate vases. Afternoon: large focal design.

Friday — Group installation. A full day building a large-scale installation together.

A certificate is awarded on completion.
